Music is the language of our souls and our emotions. It expresses that which has no words. It reaches across countries, ages and language boundaries and instantly unites us in purpose.
Different genres of music are played at a funeral service. Music is ofter used to express intense feelings and emotions. Songs we share throughout our relationships becomes sacred to us and it is normally these songs that we choose to have played at the funeral of our loved ones.
Faithfull Funeral Services can assist you in finding suitable music for the service should you wish. When you sit down with your funeral director the following will be asked:
Gathering Music ~the time when people are arriving, before the service begins. As people arrive, it is very easy to create a sense of occasion and a 'Sacred Place' by playing music. When the music stops is announces quite naturally that is time to cease any conversation and its time to start the service.
Entry Song ~ A song to start the service
A Reflection Song ~ A song during the service Which represents the person who has died, either as a description of their character or lifestyle, or simply one of their favourite songs. This or these reflection songs can be adjoined with a visual montage of the persons life. It is in the middle of a funeral that we often find the vulnerability of loss most freely expressed, held within the safety of a common and protective gathering.
An Exit song ~ For when the coffin is carried out to the hearse or when people leave the venue. The choice for the final piece of music is an important one.
